Vintage Yoruba ceremonial bell, also known as a messenger bell, used to call people to meetings. From Benin, west Africa. This style of bell is also used by the Tikar.

This heavy bell is constructed out of bronze using the lost wax method. It features three faces and is topped with a graceful, long necked wading bird. The clapper is intact. It is nicely cast, with fine detailing.
