19th Century Japanese Brown Lacquer Complete Samurai Armour with Momonari Kabuto and Original Traveling Case
Laced in white, orange and green, and comprising a momomari kabuto lacquered russet brown and mounted with a four-lame Hineno-style yodarekake. The fukigaeshi is applied with stenciled doe skin and the mabisashi is lacquered gold and finished ishimi and trimmed with black fukurin. The mempo is lacquered to match and applied with a bushy mustache and fitted with a four-lame yodarekake. The cuirass is a yokohagi okegawa do with cross-knots, the munaita and wakiita finshed in gold lacquer to match the helmet and applied with two decorative rings. The cuirass is fitted with seven sections of five-lame kusazuri. The chusode shino gote is silvered on the splints, while the plate and chain mail haidate shino suneate are both silvered to match the kote.
