A fine example of men's "jewellery" from the Tekke tribe, Turkmanistan. Made from a whole minature gourd grown expressly for the purpose, polished, chased with high grade silver and finished with a carnelian stone set into the top of the cap. Such items were used to hold powered tobacco and formed part of a wealthy man's dress ensemble. Approxilmately 40 years old.
