Our second very old figure of Christ dates from the early 20th century and also comes from south India and the vicinity of Ratnagiri. Beautifully carved, most likely from fish bone, he once adorned a crucifix. He has a rich patina from being handled and touched. His arms are missing and he has a crack down the length of his back, as shown in the picture. He is slightly smaller than our other Christ figure, but is more finely detailed.
