A stunning, double sided hand-embroidered and mirrored Rabari bag with button and fringe detailing, and a black cord shoulder strap with pom pom ends.
The embroidery on this bag is dense, detailed and spectacular, and represents a hundred or more work hours. This bag has triangular sections on the base, indicating that it was once intended for use as a salt bag (salt is a valuable commodity amongst many tribal peoples). This Rabari bag comes with a spectacular tassel that once would have been used to tie up the opening. As the bag has a shoulder strap already attached, this tassel is merely decorative and can be removed.
Altogether a beautiful and authentic tribal piece of textile.
Measurements: 34 cm height x 23 m width, width at base 34 cm. Strap length is 57 cm.
