A skirt panel woven from three wide strips of heavy cotton, sewn together to form a single textile, from the Chin people of Myanmar (Burma). The ground of the cloth is plain indigo, with two end borders woven and embroidered in decorated bands of red, pink, madder, blue and yellow. The ends of the cloth are finely hemmed.
This is a traditional vintage textile dating to around 1960. The indigo shows considerable irregularity in the dye process and there is small amounts of staining over the entire garment. That said, the textile is in excellent condition considering its age.
