  • African Turquoise And Onyx Pendant Necklace

This fine necklace is made from round cut natural stone beads, highlighted with Karen hill tribe sterling silver "eye beads" and a pendant made from unpolished onyx. The effect is simple and stunning. Finished with sterling silver findings and hook clasp.

Each silver eye bead has tiny markings on it.

Designed to be unisex, this necklace will look great on either men or women.

What is African turquoise? It's actually the trade name for a type of jasper that is mined only in Africa. The stone is green blue in colour and is rich with inclusions of crystal quartz, iron and copper deposits in a matrix of black and brown veins, making this stone a beautiful substitute for the much more expensive traditional turquoise.

Because of its inclusions, and with a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, African turquoise is a much harder stone than turquoise, which makes it great for jewellery of all types.

Measurements: Total length including clasp 42 cm (16.5”)
