Brass anklets, worn by men of the Tharu people of southern Nepal. Designed to sit around the top of the foot, these anklets are folded over to form a hollow tube, with a very simple banded decoration at front and sides and a hollow ring at the back to hang bells or other decorative items. The tube often contains small metal beads designed to act as a rattle to frighten away snakes and evil spirits. These are original antique items, dating to the early 1900's, with a rich, worn patina commensurate with its age.
price is per individual piece. These are all unique items and show individual characteristics of manufacture, decoration and wear. Please allow for variation when ordering, or ask us to send you a picture for selection.
