    Ceremonial dancer's headpiece worn as a mask in the form of a Panjurli bhuta (Vishnu's incarnation as Varaha, or boar face). For ritual use in annual Dharmanema dance festivals, honouring local spirit deities (the bhutas).

    Early 20th century. Bronze lost wax casting. A finely cast specimen, this mask is typically a very large piece with pronounced facial modelling and excellent artistic proportions. Ear rings are present to attach ear ornaments. From Kerala, southern India.
