Amber Prayer Bead & Antique Silver Necklace

This stunning necklace is made by Kashgar but inspired by the rich traditional jewellery of Morocco's Berber people.

We've teamed old Afghan prayer beads with an antique Tibetan silver pendant as centrepiece, two antique Uzbek silver hair ornaments and several very old tribal silver beads from the north of India.  

The amber beads that make up this strand are over 100 years old, in mixed shapes and sizes, and are made of amber, copal amber and bakelite. They have come from old prayer necklaces collected by us over the decades from sources in Afghanistan. Their significant age is apparent in the smooth wear shown by the beads themselves, and in the enlarged holes that pierce the beads for threading. 

The silver beads and pendants that make up this necklace have come to us over many decades of collecting. They comprise high grade silver, coin silver and sterling silver.
