  • Large Antique Tribal Uzbeki Pendant in Silver

Antique Hunza Valley Uzbeki pendant consisting of a very sturdy round, thick skinned domed plaque with a central natural carnelian stone surrounded by blue ceramic beads (some missing) and cut out applied leaf designs. Leaf shaped hollow dangles hang in a heavy fringe from lower half of the pendant. There is one very sturdy loop centered on the underside of the dome which is intended to have a large cord or fastening attached.

The entire pendant, including the applique, dangles, loop and chains, is made from high-grade silver.

The pendant shows wear marks in line with its known age of very late 19th or early 20th century.

This piece was collected by my father Bernard Heaphy in the 1980's out of Bukhara. Pieces of this quality, in silver, are rarely to be found these days outside of private collections and museums. This is a very collectable and wearable piece of tribal silver jewellery.
