Antique Indian hand carved stone pillar base. Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. 18th century or earlier. Sandstone and traces of green and blue paint.
This pillar base was once attached to a wall and is therefore only decorated on three sides. Weathered and showing signs of extreme age, we understand that it once formed part of the decorative facade of a temple.
Our pillar base would make a lovely interior design piece, especially repurposed as a candle holder. It would look equally beautiful as a feature piece in a garden or on a terrace.
