  • Antique Chin Bronze Bracelet

Heirloom bronze bangle, most likely Chin. Dating from the early Konbaung Dynasty (1752-1885), also known as the Third Burmese Empire and the last Burmese dynasty to rule Burma before invasion and occupation by the British Empire. Two angled outer faces with a raised centre ridge and four lines of raised dot decoration on either side. An H motif forms the centrepiece of decoration.

Cast bronze, in excellent condition, showing considerable patina and wear to the inside surface.

Collected by Kashgar founder Bernard Heaphy circa 1980.

This is one of two very similar bangles in our collection. Nearly identical, this bracelet is slightly wider and heavier than the second bracelet, featured here.

Measurements: Inside diameter 17 cm. Height 2 cm. Weight 141 g

A very wearable piece of antique tribal jewelry
