High grade silver box amulet with one fused and one open end, early 20th century. Tekke, from Turkmenistan.
It features typical Tekke decoration consisting of raised and stamped silver bands and panels of 24k gold applied via the traditional method of fire gilding. Two red glass stones complete the decoration.
An original tribal piece collected in Afghanistan by my father in the 1980’s.
