



Turkoman disk pectoral pendant or breast jewel, called a selpi guljaka. Applied leaf motifs, granulation and wire work set with ceramic beads (some of which are missing) and a central lapis cabochon. High grade silver. At the back is a soldered flat loop for attachment to the garment.
This is an old pendant dating to the 19th century. It was collected by Bernard Heaphy, founder of Kashgar, in the 1980's out of Mazar El Sharif in northern Afghanistan.
