Spongiform red coral grows at depths of up to 2 meters in arm coastal waters of the Pacific. It is farmed for the jewellery industry, is sustainably harvested and is one of the great successes of the coral jewellery trade. There are no restrictions on its trade across the world, unlike the Mediterranean red coral industry.
